I took a trip to the aquarium today. Two students are doing research on sea otters. We saw them being fed and had a long discussion with a naturalist about the otter’s life cycle and how they survive in the wild. We compared them to the river otters. I am reminded of Ring of Bright Water, one of my favorite books as a child. I need to find a copy for the school library.
I could not believe the color of Elliot Bay. It looks like chocolate milk, with all the runoff from the heavy rains, snow melt and flooding we had last week. The ferries were lost in a light fog and the sun kept trying to come out. It will be interesting to see how long those sediment stay suspended in the water. Let’s hope we don’t get any more rain for a while.
