It’s that time again…R.I.P. VI

Time for that certain chill in the air, leaves of brilliant red and gold, books filled with good scary fun.  Carl V is again hosting one my favorite reading events, R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril, from September 1st thru October 31st.  This is not really a challenge, just a great way to join in with others and read books that can be classified as Mystery, Suspence, Thrillers, Dark Fantasy, Gothic, Horror or Supernatural. Ghost stories anyone? And there are prizes!

There are several levels  including Peril on the Screen and, new this year, Peril of the Group Read.  Please join us!

I am taking part in Peril the First, which means I plan on reading at least four books.  I haven’t yet compiled a book list but hope to include Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar ChildrenHouse of Leaves and one or two of the mysteries that Mr G has collected over the past couple of years.  Isn’t this artwork stunning?

  3. i’ve been dying to read Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and even though i’m not joining the rip challenged, it seems like the perfect book to read in october.

  4. A big reason why I join up every year is because of those buttons! He always finds the best artwork.

  5. I will be reading Peculiar Children also.. I have seen House of Leaves on a number of lists..guess I will have to go check into it *sigh* my wish list and tbr just keep growing soon I will have no room to even sit!

    • I am trying hard to only read what I can get at my library and have made a promise to myself to only bring new books into the house if I give away the same number of books! I haven’t had time to check everyone’s book lists for RIP but hope to do so tonight and tomorrow. Love the pond photos!

  6. I’m very interested to read your review of Miss Peregrine.
    The artwork is so amazing.
    I just love this event.

    • Me too, I think R.I.P. really is my favorite seasonal book blogging event. I always plan to read way more than I manage to but that is just part of the fun.

  7. I’m looking foward to seeing what you’ll be reading! I’ve heard that Miss Peregrine is pretty good so may be tempted to check it out, although I already have a long enough list of my own!
