Sunday Salon

Good morning to you!   I hope everyone who took part in the Read-a-thon had a wonderful time.  I had hoped to visit many blogs and leave brilliant comments but we had severe server connection problems yesterday and I am scrambling to finish this post before things go down again.  I think it all comes down to our wireless router.

I finished and reviewed several books this week, books I enjoyed immensely.  Today I am hoping to finish Gene Wolfe’s The Sorcerer’s House  and, if the computer will cooperate,  I would like to spend some time updating this blog.  If the sun comes out I may throw those plans out the window and spend time in the garden.

What are you planning on doing or reading this Sunday? You can find out about Sunday Salon by visiting here.

  1. You’re reading The Sorcerer’s House! I saw Neil Gaiman mention it the other day (he said it was epistolary and fabulous and dark) and I’ve been dying to get my hands on it ever since. Looking forward to your review!

  2. It’s cold and rainy here so I plan on staying in all day reading. I’ve three books including Stalking Darkness, a high fantasy which looks like lots of fun.

Just the sort of thing to fill a rainy day.

  3. You must have the patience of Job with your internet problems. You seem so even-keel! When I go to my mom’s in Indiana and it doesn’t work, I become an enraged homicidal maniac. I’m not doing much reading today…I am FRIED.

    • I can be very patient but we’ve about had it. I’m ready to try a different system/ISP.

I’m sure you are exhausted! So glad you were able to take part in the read-a-thon. Have a good week, Sandy.

  4. I had a great time with the read-a-thon! Were you able to participate despite your Internet problems?

    • I got to visit and comment a bit through the read-a-thon. I tried to leave you a comment, don’t know if you got it. Have a great week.

  5. The last time we had problems, it turned out to be the router. I was shocked since it was barely six months old. Hope things are resolved soon – that is such a frustration!

    Hi Gavin
Thanks for dropping in.. I had an awesome time during the read-a-thon. Did you get to do some reading as well ?

  7. Okay, just based on you and Nymeth’s comments I really want to read the Gene Wolfe now…. Maybe I can convince the library to buy it!

And, I HATE routers. For a few years there I was buying a new one every 6 months, I swear. They are getting better and lasting longer, but still annoying!

    • It’s a combination of the router and the old phone line to the house which our service provider won’t replace! We’re going to try a new system.

The Sorcerer’s House is a wonderful, wild book.

  8. I hope things are better now with your server. I haven’t read The Sorcerer’s House so I’m looking forward to your review. Hope you’re having a great week.
